City centre cake shops?

Question

Can any cake/pastry shops be recommended that are in Manchester city centre? I'm looking for a shop that does small to big cakes you can go look at and take away straight away without ordering them in. It'd be nice if it was a specialist shop that make their own wonderful and different creations!

there are couple in the west side of piccadilly garden.  the Ivar bakery is pretty good
