City of santa barbara is it a nice city I'm trying to be a cop in that city or something near by.?

It is really nice but also very expensive to live and buy a home in. Have you looked into smaller communites like San Luis Obispo?

A police officer does not make enough money to live anywhere near Santa Barbara. Civic workers in Santa Barbara, generally have to commute 50 miles or more to find a place where they can afford to live.

About the only place a police officer can afford to live is in the Antelope Valley or the inland empire. These places are not as nice but unless you enjoy commuting you want to look for positions in those places.

h**l yeh, If I was going to be a cop I would want to be one in Santa Barbara and not one in Compton or Watts for gods sake......

the city is really really nice. It's very pretty and mostly calm compared to other cities.

The downside is that it's reaaaallly expensive. Some people commute to work.

You can try Oxnard, Camarillo, or Ventura. Those cities are close by (about 40-55 miles) which is close to the beach.
