  1. Do you have a "town watch" where you live? If you do, start by talking with them. If you don't, contact your local politician, or call the mayors office. I'm sure anyone of these can at least point you in the right direction.

    On a personal note:

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Nice to meet up with someone who not only cares, but wants to get invoved. You sound like a great person to me. Thanks for caring............

  2. d

  3. city counsel meetings

  4. Watch to see if a political party you feel comfortable with is having a local meeting.  Or don't wait, and call the local office of a political party and indicate an interest in working in a campaign.  Or if there is a local candidate this year (incumbent or not) whom you like, contact their campaign.  They will be delighted to have a volunteer, you will meet others involved in politics and learn if you want to continue increasing your involvement.

If you don't know how to contact any of these, call your local newspaper, ask for the political reporter.  That is one person certain to have all the phone numbers in a rolladex!
