i'm so lost! these are multiple questions:

  1. 1.  B  It is not feasible to poll an entire population  2.  A  federal courts do not have jurisdiction over other countries.  3.  A  you are not proven innocant in a court of law, only not guilty. 4.  C  the US Supreme Court is considered a court of last resort, it is an appeals court.

  3. I agree... except #1... I believe the answer is A... a well constructed polling sample will be a random sample.... but it best reflects the characteristics of an entire population.  If you did a study to count spots on frogs and went to 3000 different ponds and collected 100 frogs from each from different areas of each pond and counted the spots on each frog then averaged them, you would have characteristics of an entire population.  You did get a random sample, however it reflects the characteristics of an entire population... in this case the average number of spots.
