Civilisation game for the PC?

Which is the best Cvilisation game for the PC for someone who has never played one before? There are lots available so which is the best for a new-comer to the game? I guess from looking at the different versions that some are extensions of others.

Civiliaztion is defiently the best, and you cna set it on various levle's of difficulty, try to get the complete collection, as that has all the expansion's.

an even easier game is Simcity 3000/4. its onyl one ciuty, and teh micro manamgent is eaise,r no need ot worry about a roman invasion.

If you are new to it then you just as well start with Civilizations 4. If you go in to 'game' they will advise you as it is now available in a pack with the 2 expansion packs. It took me a long time to get into it after playing civilisations 2 and 3, but now I've sussed it it is definately the best so far.

What are your system specs?

If they're good, get Civilization IV along with Beyond the Sword.

If you're running a budget PC, get Civilization III and its expansion packs.

I loved Civ 2 for playstation. but i suggest Civ IV as i think it has them all in it. Also its like 2 for £20 at game i think. Yeah Civ i s a great game. I love annihilating the other civs!
