I need to know the best way to get from the dock in civitavecchia to my hotel in central Rome. I am staying at a B&B next to the Pantheon and will have my husband and luggage. I don't mind taking a train but don't know the best stop or where transfers are. Please help! I would greatly appriciate it!

Civitavecchia to central Rome= about 60 km, so 1 hour and half of driving. Excuse me for my English!! '-'

  2. in civitavecchia you can take a train to termini (the main station in rome)

from termini  take the bus 64 for 8 stop and stop at "largo argentina" from there are 400 meters to the pantheon

  3. Hello,

The easiest way is hire a car to pick you up at the dock and take you directly to your hotel.  This is the most expensive option but will save you a lot of hassles.  You can try romecab.com or airportconnection.it.

The cheapest way is to take the train into the termini station in Rome.  You will have to get to the train station from the dock which is about a 15 minute walk,  From the termini station, there is no metro stop at the pantheon.  You can take a cab for the 15 minute ride.  This will cost about 8 euros plus one euro for each bag.  Or from the termini station, you can walk to the pantheon but that will take about 20 minutes.  If you take this option you will have to handle your bags by yourself onto and off of the train and around the city if you choose to walk.  This could be difficult if you have large bags or more than one bag each.  You can check out virtualtourist.com for more suggestions.  It is a great website by people who have been there.  Just click on the forum tab or the travel guides tab to find out all the info you will need.

  4. I just booked the train from civitavecchia in to central termini which was about $60.00 plus a service fee b/c I booked it through a travel agent, for when we will be there later this month.  Once at the termini station in Rome it would probably be best for you to just take a cab to your B&B.

    Have fun!
