Question:

Clairol luminize clear kit?

I was thinking about using the clairol luminize clear kit that will lift one shade. I am tired of using sun-in because I don't see much of a result with that product. I think I will like the luminize kit because it doesn't have ammonia. But I was wondering if it will still have a harsh chemical smell to it or not? And what is the level of peroxide used in the kit? And do I have to worry about it turning orange or anything like that? My natural hair color is medium brown.

  1. Luminizing products were designed for use by professionals.  Just about anyone can use them.  You just need to be fast with the application.  Don't take any longer than about 5 minutes to apply.  Be sloppy, and fast. It has been years since I have used the product myself, but I would guess that the level of develpoer doesn't exceed 10 volume, or 3%.  I used the red one the most.  The clear will lift up to 1 shade, but more importantly, it will give you fantastic shine.  I have never heard that the product turning anyone orange.  I say, go for it.
