Clarecastle Dub likely to dictate proceedings in Coral Romford Standard
Clarecastle Dub is expected to build on his fresh success and outpace his opponents in the Coral Romford Standard, taking place at Romford on Friday, May 11th.
After suffering a disgraceful defeat at the end of March, the black dog went on a vacation. He stayed out of action for more than a month before returning to action with a huge bang earlier this week.
In a 400 metres heat, the M. Wallis-trained impressed everyone with a fine effort. An early pace helped him get a decent lead at the first bend and the dashing hound faced no difficulty in retaining his advantage till the finishing
line.
Consequently, he sealed the top rank by ½ a length. The bookmakers are expecting him to carry forward his good work and do an equally good job in today’s 400 metres flat heat.
The officials at Romford are due to start the proceedings at 22:11 GMT. Among the confirmed entries are: Clarecastle Dub, Hondo Willy, Droopys Pharaoh, Smoke Fairy, Drumcrow Ted and Ballymac Elite.
Hondo Willy is also doing a flawless job these days. At the start of May, Hondo Black’s son grabbed the victory in a similar race. In today’s race, the hound will start the show from the red box.
Droopys Pharaoh is more than capable of raising his game at any moment. So, the brindle hound will be a major player tonight, only if he gives his one hundred percent.
D. Mullins’ trainee is unlikely to attract too many punters, because he is not in the best of his form these days. In his last appearance, he ended up third on the table.
Ballymac Elite’s chances for the top prize are not bright. In his last race, the white and blue was not impressive at all. Drumcrow Ted is a last-time-winner, but today’s draw will be hard to tackle. Similarly, Smoke Fairy is
not likely to do something special.
According to our calculations, Clarecastle Dub will have to face many difficulties on the way to victory. Let’s see how he keeps his head high against the likes of Hondo Willy and Droopys Pharaoh. We wish the best of luck to
everyone.
