A.C Milan will take on bitter rivals, Inter Milan, in a one-off Italian Super Cup game at Beijing on Saturday, August 06, 2011.
Milan midfielder, Clarence Seedorf, admitted that it will be an epic encounter as Inter have always given his team a tough time. The Dutchman believes that Milan need to take a positive approach to the game to take their opponents
from the scruff of their necks. The former Real Madrid star has praised the new Nerazzurri manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, and believes that Inter will be a very difficult opponent working under him.
Talking to the reporters Seedorf said, "Our approach will be important as we are playing a great team with a great coach. Inter have always put us into difficulty and I think it will be an even game. In any case, we are ready for
it."
The winners of Serie A and the Coppa Italia take on each other in Italian Super Cup every year. Milan won the 2010/11 Serie A while the Nerazzurri were crowned as the Coppa Italia winners last season. Milan last time played in
the competition when they beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Shevchenko-c6014 hat-trick at San Siro in 2004.
On the other hand, Inter do not have fond memories of playing the competition at the same venue, as they were beaten 2-1 by Lazio two years ago. The game holds immense importance for both of the sides for many reasons. Both the
teams have won the competition on five occasions each and the winner of this tie will leapfrog their rivals on the honours board of the trophy.
This game will serve as an ideal indicator of where the both teams stand in terms of their preparations for the new season. Seedorf believes that a win here would give his team a flying start to the new campaign and it will provide
them with an important boost before the 2011/12 season.
Milan will be missing new boys, Philippe Mexes and Stephan El-Shaarawy, through injuries while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taye-Taiwo-c34728 is suspended for the game. On the other hand, Inter Milan’s new signing, Ricky Alvarez, will make his professional debut
for the club.
