West Brom manager Steve Clarke was concerned with his team’s defensive performance after the Baggies conceded 2 goals in the 3-2 victory against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 this past Saturday.
Despite maintaining their impressive winning run at home, the Baggies let in two goals as they clinched on to a nervy 3-2 victory against QPR.
West Brom took the lead in the 5th minute through James Morrison. The striker nodded home from a Shane Long cross and gave the home side the lead.
The next goal came in the 22nd minute when Morrison turned provider and helped Zoltan Gera get on the score sheet. This however resulted from an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Ferdinand-c6260 mistake, who was unable to clear the cross and placed it at Gera’s feet.

The Baggies had chances to increase their lead, but were kept at bay by the impressive http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-Cesar-c19961, who made a series of saves throughout the game.
They did however score their third goal courtesy of Youssouf Mulumbu. The player brought the house down as he finished in spectacular fashion and gave the home side some room to breathe.
However, QPR got a late goal in the 90th minute through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-Granero-c12919, ensuring a nervy end to the game. QPR came close to grabbing a last minute equalizer, but Jose Bosingwa blew his chance and show wide of the goal.
Manager Steve Clarke was delighted with the victory, but was concerned about his side’s defensive display.
“Yes, we probably made harder work of it than it should have been," Clarke told the club's official website.
"From 2-0 up I thought we became a bit too open. Defensively it wasn’t a performance you would associate with us. Attacking-wise we played some fantastic football going forward and created a lot of chances in the game. It took a little bit longer to see
the game out than it should have done."
