The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 defender has urged his troops to put in a solid show in their upcoming Premier League clash against Harry Redknapp’s men, while admitting that the Hoops’ performances thus far is surprising to most of the people.
West Bromwich Albion manager, Steve Clarke, has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s upcoming English Premier League game against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 at Loftus Road Stadium on Wednesday, December 26.
The Hoops are currently sitting 19th on the league table, five points adrift of the safety zone, and the 49-year-old tactician has insisted that his troops will have to put in their 100 percent if they are to claim a good result.
“We have to go there and make sure we’re strong mentally and up for the fight because they are fighting for their lives. We have to impose our style of football on them and hopefully get another positive result”, Clarke said while talking to reporters in
the pre-match press conference.
The Scottish mentor, who took the reins of WBA before the start of the 2012/13 season, went on to admit that QPR’s showings thus far in the league have been surprising to many.
“I think it's a surprise to most people in football that QPR are where they are”, Clarke added.
QPR have an abysmal record thus far both at home and on the road, and had to wait for 16 league games before claiming their maiden victory of the season, when they cruised to a hard fought 2-1 win over Fulham at home on December 15.
And the WBA boss has admitted that his side will certainly face a stern test at the hands of the Hoops, as they managed to win their last home game.
“We are playing them on the back of that first home win. They will be buoyed by the fact they won their previous home game. We will need to be at our best to get anything out of the game”, Clarke concluded.
West Brom are currently occupying the seventh spot on the Premier League table. However, they would certainly better their standings if they manage to bag all three points against QPR on Boxing Day.
