West Brom manager Steve Clarke has asked his team for a response against Arsenal after two consecutive league defeats that have seen them slip from 3rd to 5th position on the league table.
After a good early November, West Brom have experienced a sort of dip in form which has moved them from 3rd to 5th on the Premier League table. The Baggies managed an impressive home win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, which was shortly followed by an away win against Sunderland. However, since then they have lost two successive games to Swansea and Stoke City respectively.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 themselves have not been in good form recently, and have failed to win a game since the famous 5-2 North London derby victory over Tottenham last month. The Gunners are winless in their last three games, and most recently lost a home game to Swansea City at the Emirates.
West Brom manager Steve Clarke expects his team to bounce back against Arsenal tonight, and hopes they can cement their place back in the top 4.
The manager has been nothing short of impressive ever since he took over form Roy Hodgson in the summer. Having started the season on a high, the Baggies have dipped in form recently, but still remain in the top 5.
Things get tougher as the Baggies travel to London to face Arsenal tonight, with the North London club also in desperate need of a result.
Clarke is hopeful that West Brom will put their inconsistencies behind them and manage a good result tonight. Speaking to reporters, he said:
“I’m not looking for a response, I’m expecting it because that’s what they’ve done before. We’ve had two defeats before this season, then we lost two games in the space of four days last week. It is not a disaster in terms of the whole picture and what we are trying to do this season.”
“It is the Premier League and it is a difficult place to win week in and week out. Even the top sides don’t win every week. There is no reason to expect you should win every game."
Arsenal are without 5 first team starters, and West Brom will be looking to capitalize and cause an upset.
