West Brom manager Steve Clarke is looking forward to the clash against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium tonight and insists that his team are in for a difficult encounter.
The manager has urged his team to stay grounded and not get carried away with their terrific start to the Premier League campaign. West Brom are currently 3rd in the league with 26 points from 13 games. The team has enjoyed its best start to the
league in decades, managing victories against the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The manager is refusing to look far ahead and insists that his team will work hard to make sure they keep up their form in the league. West Brom are favourites for a top 4 finish this season, and many will say they deserve to qualify for the Champions League.
However, with more than half the season left to go, Clarke is focusing on the now and not looking that far ahead. Speaking to reporters, the manager said:
“This is where you get tested. This is a test of the squad, the character of the group. So far every time they’ve been tested, asked the question, they have passed the test, and there have been some pivotal moments.”
“We have to keep facing those challenges and we have to keep our season on the right track. But we are not even into December yet. I’ll get lifted by it all when we get to the last weeks of the season. If we are still in a good position then, I’ll enjoy
the moment.”
The boss was full of praise for his squad and their hard work. West Brom have really looked like a solid unit, supporting each other in all areas of the pitch.
In other news, skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Brunt is looking for vengeance as West Brom prepare for the game against Swansea City tonight. The player revealed that he has a score to settle as he braces for his 200th appearance for the Baggies.
The club had suffered a double defeat at the hand of the Swans last season, but look a different team this campaign and are eager to avenge last season’s defeats. With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Shane Long in top form, Brunt is
confident of getting a result in tonight’s Premier League action.
