West Brom manager Steve Clarke insists that the club’s season will properly start after this week’s international break.
The Hawthorns boss has issued a message to all his players going out on international duty: ‘The season starts now’. The manager has urged his players that they must work hard to ensure they maintain their impressive momentum in the Premier League.
The Baggies are currently sixth in the league, tied with Tottenham and Everton on 14 points. The club has enjoyed its best start to the English top flight in recent seasons, and are currently the team to watch.
West Brom’s impressive run included the surprising dismantling of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 at the Hawthorns during the opening weeks of the campaign.
The club will take on current English champions Manchester City once the international break is over, and Clarke believes that a win against the Eastlanders will kick start their season and give shape to their campaign.
“I think we are where we are,” said Clarke. We don't need to be tested. We've had a good start and proved we can stand up to anyone at The Hawthorns - and we hope to do that against Manchester City.”

“My opinion is the season starts after this international break. This is the juncture where you fight for position and the next run of game takes you into November and December where the season really takes shape and you have a run of tough matches.”
The manager was delighted when defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Olsson extended his stay at the Hawthorns till 2016 last week. Clarke believes the club’s stability and long-term planning will go a long way in ensuring their Premier League success in the coming years.
West Brom recently hosted Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 at home, and emerged victorious in a 3-2 victory. The Baggies’ performance did however raise some question marks about their defence. Prior to this game, West Brom had only conceded one goal at the Hawthorns,
which came in the Capital One Cup defeat against Liverpool.
The Baggies were in cruise control up until http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-Granero-c12919 scored a last minute goal and Jose Bosingwa came close to equalizing. Steve Clarke was well aware of this fact, but was content with the three points and another home victory.
