"I'd love him to be fit but if he's not we'll find a way," said Watson while speaking to media reporters on Sunday.
"We did last summer and if Watto's not available somebody will come in and grab that opportunity. You look at our performance last summer, he (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 4-0," he added further.

The 31-year-old promising all-rounder sustained the injury bowling for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Robert-Border-c43726 Field yesterday. After scoring 33 runs in NSW’s first innings, Watson bowled only four overs before limping off the field with the calf injury, and did not return to bat in the second innings of the match, which his side lost by six wickets.
Though the injury is not that serious, the Queensland born all-rounder will in all probability sit out the three-Test series opener at Gabba, as the hosts do not want to risk him ahead of a packed home summer.
With the former skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 is confident his players would not let Watson’s absence be felt.
"There's plenty of players performing so if somebody is unavailable due to injury somebody else will get an opportunity and will step up," said Clarke.
"We've got to be ready. We'll be as well prepared as we possibly can be. We've got the next four days to make sure we're ready to go," the Australian skipper concluded.
