Classes in highschool, year 8?

Question

I was wondering, when you start year 8 do you get to schedule your classes? Choose which classes you have at what time of each day? I live in Australia.

I also live in Australia and I don't. But then again it could depend on the school. Ask the school. Anyone who does get to schedule is LUCKY!!

No. I teach year 8 (Australia) and can tell you that you will have your classes scheduled for you and you will have absolutely no say in the matter! Nor will you for any part of high school! That's not the way it works here. You'll have to wait for uni to do that.

I live in North America, Utah. And how it works here is you choose your classes and they are scheduled upon availability (Most likely  you will get your class of choice). And they're is a system called "Periods" which is all your classes are 1-1 and half an hour Each; ex. 7:45- 9:05 is one period. and second period starts at 9:10-11: 15, etc. (Remember, this is in America). and how they are placed is up to the counselor and Teacher who chooses to teach the class at whatever time of their choice. So basically yes, you choose your classes and No you cannot decide at what time you want it. (Remember, Again I am talking about America, Therefore i don't know the system for it in Australia). But i am sure if you call the office and ask them, they will answer your question.

no, well not at my school or any of my other friends schools. but we live in nsw. i think they arrange on teacher and class room availability.
