I have been playing guitar for four years. I am pretty good, but not great. I have played guitar solos including smoke on the water, beatles let it be (album version) solo, and dani california. What are some other easy classic solos that I could learn how to play?

  1. Jimi Hendrix "bold as love"  that solo isn't real hard.  and

"one" by Metallica. the solo at the very beginning of the song.  but i also agree with the guy above me. learning about theory and how to read music is important.  musical theory helps tremendously with song writing. and being able to read music helps u to map out the song in a more organized form. when u can't read music(like me) it get's kinda hard putting songs together. the more complicated ur songs get, the harder it is to remember the order perfectly. but i usually record my songs and re-listen to the song multiple time to memorize the correct order of everything.

  2. You may want to go back and learn some of the BASICS... like learning how to read music and some music theory... because playing a 4 note solo from Smoke on the Waters isn't a whole lot for someone who has been playing 4 YEARS.  And being able to play the 4 chords in "Let it Be" (G, D, Em, C) isn't much more.

You may want to work on learning Pentatonic scales and then see what you can do with the solos... but nothing beats being able to read real music and having the theory knowledge to actually understand how chords and scales are composed.

  3. Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana

Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue

  4. Jimi Hendrix- Red House (Blues)

    The Eagles- Hotel California (Acoustic)

    No Doubt- Don't Speak

    Creed- Don't Stop Dancing

Just a couple. Let me know if it helps.
