check out the Pendragon Cycle by Stephen Lawhead. They are AMAZING books. There are five in this order:

Taliesin

Merlin

Arthur

Pendragon

Grail

They are not like any old King Arthur books. Stephen Lawhead is known for his amazing character development and rewriting legends to  fit into real history. After reading these books, I felt like the characters were my best friends, and I genuinely got mad at my history teacher when she said King Arthur didn't exist. Another amazing things about this series is that each book is about a different character, so you not only have one lovable hero, but several. enjoy!

just as a change of pace, try "The Mists of Avalon." by Miriam Zimmer Bradley. It's told from the perspective of Guinevere. Cool
