  1. there is a lovely peice called allegro simplice from swan lake. its not a well known one but it is very nice for petit allegro and pointe work.

if you want an adage go with somethiing like rose adagio form sleeping beauty. obviously you cant dance the rose adagio for a solo but that music can be great for solo work!

    good luck with your solo!

  2. I would definatly reccomend David lanz songs. THey are beautiful and classical. Especially cristifori's dream or Vesuvius.. Also I woud reccommend Some of "The 5 browns" music. They are really great piano players. I think you can get some of their stuff off of limewire. THey have great classic. I know it's a classic music thing, but also if you want some musicc that is just for fun dancing, then I'd suggest William Joseph. try here to get a preview of him.

  3. Use a song that's famous, but not over done like the Sugar Plum Fairy. Maybe something from a famous ballet like The Nutcracker, Giselle or Swan Lake or a famous symphony. Something that changes tempo a lot would look really nice, also something that involves a lot of instruments.

  4. You can always take a piece of music from a famous ballet such as Dance of the Reed Pipes from the Nutcracker or you could take something from Swan Lake, etc. But if you want something that hasn't been used in a ballet try one of Yo Yo Ma's songs, I suggest the CD Classic Yo Yo (I used the song Slavonic Dance)
