I am working at a Christian School and am looking for a cute classroom theme for February. I wanted to do something for Valentine's Day but did not want to do just the normal hearts. Any ideas?

  1. you could place big letterings like John 3:16 and make the class colorful with falling hearts from the celing and tell them to draw something for the class and parents about valentines day..... and attach the drawed pic.s in the wall...improvise hehe, maybe you could teach them how to make hearts... don't use sissors, or origami..

  2. How about pictures that show what love is? Examples: Love is patient; love is kind; love is not rude; etc..

  3. My yearly theme is Fruits of the Spirit and February is Love. So things like: A friend loveth at all times, John 316 are things that i use.

  4. idk!!! but why dont you decorate like a regular school? you know, hearts, give out candy, stuff like dat!

  5. Flowers, cupid, hearts--check this website out it looked really cool.

  6. perhaps u amy try making the classroom painted in various bright colours instead of normal dull coloured classrooms.

on valentine, u may have your students to have some gifts sharing or some games..

  7. What about hearts "reaching out?"  You could go over ways to serve.

Or you could talk about passion in respectful way.. what are the kids passionate about?  Saving the environment.   Earning a Boy Scout medal.  Being a great big sister.  Saving the lost for Christ.  You could tie in their callings to their passion and explore how the two could be one in the same.

  8. Feb is lent so you could go around with that maybe (foods they had back then plus throw in some more to day things that would be fun for them.

  9. Have the children talk about how we show love to one another  ex. helping grandma, then have children take magazines and cut out pictures that show love. Make a collage and label showing love or how we show love. kids love to cut and paste.

  10. Okay - there are the obvious - showing God's Love, Love is..., etc.

There are also the theme ideas for Presidents Day and Black History Month .

Feb. is also Dental Health month (Love your Smile).

You can do Feb. as "Love to Read" month - Feb. is Library Lover's Month http://www.librarysupport.net/librarylov...

I also saw somewhere that Feb. is "Responsible Pet Owner" month (Love Your Pet), but I'm not sure where.

And Feb is a good time for:

    - Winter birds

    - Stars (star gazing is easier during winter months)

    - Heart Healthy - a twist on the traditional "heart" theme

    Good Luck & Have Fun

  11. Or my son's preschool valentines party I am going to help them make mailboxes with hearts on them. The hearts will be like conversation hearts except they will say "Patient", Kind"  "Not boastful" etc. (From 1 Corinthians 13 4-6)

I know it is still hearts, but I think it is the perfect christian valentines day theme!

  12. Hearts are fine, you could make the theme "showing your love" or "letting your love shine" And discuss how kids, even kids their age can help others. It can be as simple as what to do if you see someone fall down, to discussing the homeless and collecting mittens for a shelter.

We need more teachers like you! Good luck!
