Claudia Hausler wins the final stage of the Exergy Tour, Evelyn Stevens secures an overall victory at the race
Claudia Hausler of Team GreenEdge-AIS wins the fourth stage of the Exergy Tour 2012 after her splendid performance during the 75 kilometre race.
He crossed the finish line in a quickest time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 8 seconds and occupied the top podium spot.
Evelyn Stevens of Team Specialized-lululemon finished at the second position while Jasmin Glaesser of Canadian National Team, Carmen Small of Team Optum Pro Cycling p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies and Megan Guarnier of Team Tibco-To the Top achieved the next four spots.
"I think we have a really special thing here on Team Specialized-lululemon, I think it's because it almost fell apart last year that we recognized how special it was," Claudia noted.
"I think it was Exergy that started it off, and they started it off fast, I was like, 'Oh, my goodness.' Every team here raced their bikes".
Clara Hughes of Team Specialized-lululemon was happy after her 11th place finish, "It was cool for me being off the front because I knew I could just pour everything into that breakaway,"
"And if it didn't succeed, and we got caught, I knew that Amber [Neben] and Evie [Stevens] were just sitting, waiting to pounce".
Claudia Hausler of Team GreenEdge-AIS topped the first position with a total number of 15 points while Evelyn Stevens of Team Specialized-lululemon and Jasmin Glaesser of Canadian National Team secured the 12 and 10 points respectively.
The top three positions after the final general classifications belonged to Team Specialized-lululemon.
Evelyn Stevens, Amber Neben and Clara Hughes finished at the first, the second and the third positions after the final general classifications.
Stevens is having a terrific season and has filled her bag with several victories in the current season including the first place finish at the Women’s Tour of New Zealand, La Fleche Wallonne Feminine and the Gracia-Orlova 2012.
Ina Yoko Teutenberg, Leah Kirchmann and Claudia Hausler achieved the top three positions after the point’s classifications.
Team Specialized-lululemon, Team GreenEdge-AIS, Canadian National Team, Team Exergy Twenty 12, Team Optum Pro Cycling and Team Tibco-To the Top are the top five sides after the final team’s classifications.
