The Juventus midfielder stated his discontent after watching Napoli boycotted the Supercoppa Italiana closing ceremony; remarking that it was not becoming of them.
The Supercoppa Italiana was a high profile encounter and it gave the spectators everything they could have asked for; from goals to drama to controversy, the match had it all. There had been controversy in the build up to the event as well; the President
of the Neapolitan outfit always found a reason to be in the headlines due to the Super Cup tie.
There was controversy due to the venue in the beginning as the two teams could not agree on a mutual destination. However, once they agreed, De Laurentiis had other concerns, stating that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 were thinking of not
attending the match due to the inconvenience it possessed.
If the prelude to the Supercoppa Italiana was to go by, then those who guessed even more drama would not have been disappointed. The Neapolitan outfit banned the post match ceremony of the Italian Super Cup after they felt they had been dealt with great
injustice during the course of the match.
Napoli and Juventus were tied level at 2-2 after full time; after the match progressed into extra time, Napoli went down to nine men due to controversial decisions.
Marchisio went on to state that everyone was entitled to their own opinion and should do whatever they felt like doing, however, he cited the reaction of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 to the loss in the European Championship final, and further remarked:
“Everyone is free to do what they want, but just as Italy stayed to watch http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 receive their reward after the Euro 2012 Final and Juventus watched Napoli lift the Coppa Italia, it would’ve been fair for Napoli to stay on the field too.”
He went on to comment on their dissent and stated:
“Their protests? If there had been a few more bookings in the first half to penalise nasty tackles, then perhaps we wouldn’t have seen the red cards after the break.”
The score line finished 4-2 on the night.
