The Juventus man believes that while homosexuality is tolerated among office workers, it is treated much more harshly in the world of football.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312 has voiced his support for g*y marriages, and has stated that calcio’s perception of g**s in not fair to the community.
The issue has been major talking point in the Italian press, since Cesare Prandelli wrote the preface of a book encouraging the homosexuals in the world of Italian sports to come out of the closet with their sexual preferences.,
The statement met with negative reaction from Antonio De Natale and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302, and catapulted the matter into media frenzy.
Marchisio stated that the idea of same s*x-marriages is not something that repels him, but maintained that the thought is viewed in the Italian society with very cross eyes.
The Juventus-man went on to point out to the bias against g*y footballers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, and stated that the homosexual is never viewed so negatively when he walks out of an office.
The former Empoli midfielder suggested that the bias represents an unfair treatment of g*y players in the world of football, that is not based on fairness and should not be allowed to continue.
In an interview for the month’s male Italian edition of Vogue magazine, the 26-year-old said;
“Personally, I agree on same-s*x marriages. In our particular environment, in fact, the topic is a bit rigid. If someone comes out at their workplace [somewhere else], fortunately it is no longer a sensation. When doing so at a
football training camp, however, the same scene cannot be imagined. It is not fair.“
Marchisio stated that he subscribes to the traditional view of family as one comprised of a man and a woman, but insisted that it should not bar the homosexuals from getting into marriages with each other.
The Bianconeri playmaker argued that a g*y couple is just as capable of loving their family and children as a heterosexual couple.
“I find that instinctively the more traditional figures are those of a man and woman [as parents]. I try to think that children need balance, but it’s a complicated issue. It cannot be argued that a heterosexual couple can necessarily
be able to provide more love to a child.”
