Chelsea’s recent signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marko-Marin-c24198 has revealed he has heard great things about the London club from former Blue’s striker Claudio Pizarro.
It was in April that Chelsea announced the signing of the 23-year-old German attacking midfielder from Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee. He has spent three years with the Bundesliga side, where http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Pizarro-c9324 was his teammate.
The 33-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peru-c2981 international signed a four year deal with Chelsea in the summer of 2007 from Bayern Munich. He didn’t have the best of starts, going on miss the penalty in the 2007 FA Community Shield against Manchester United.
During the time Jose Mourinho was at the club, Pizarro was guaranteed regular football, but after the Portuguese manager’s departure he found himself on the bench more often than not. He scored just two goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.
Despite a poor run with the London side, Pizarro highly recommended a move to Chelsea to Marin. According to him, the Blues would prove to be the perfect club for the German international.
Marin said while speaking to reporters:
“He [Pizarro] only had good things to say. I asked him how it is here and he still has a house in Cobham. He didn't play a lot but he said that he had a great time here and he thinks I will enjoy it.”
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder c*m winger revealed he was certain he would go on to do well with the Blues, having been extremely impressed with their performance last season. Chelsea went on to claim the FA Cup and the Champions League, giving Marin
hope that they would win silverware in the future.
He continued:
“I think I am an offensive player, more a winger, so I hope I can give a lot of assists to strikers so they score a lot of goals and they help the team.
If you play for such a team as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 you want to win trophies, like last year with the Champions League and the FA Cup. The Premier League I think is the best league in the world and to win this, that is my aim.”
