The Inter Milan head coach was left to rue his side’s inability to change their fortunes and felt his side had been making the same mistakes over and over again.
The Beneamata have had an abysmal season so far and the storm might not be over as yet. There is potential for them to drop further down the table, as they have a lot of tricky ties remaining in the Lega.
After their loss in the matchday 29 fixture of the Serie A against Juventus, Ranieri was left to wonder on how different things could have been. Inter kept on asking questions from the Juve defence, however the Bianconeri stayed strong with Buffon making some exceptional saves in the first half. Sadly for the Beneamata fans, their team could only keep up the pressure untill the hour mark, as Juventus made a comeback from Martin Caceres their veteran attacker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Del-Piero-c4726, which propelled them to a 2-0 victory.
Ranieri commented on the match and explained where things went wrong, citing the lapses in defence as the major cause of concern, adding:
“Andrea Poli was meant to be marking Vucinic, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maicon-c23157 lost Caceres because he was drawn to the Montenegrin. From there the game was over for us, as we lost in terms of intensity and determination on every ball.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 lost the plot and it seemed like the air had been taken out of the side.
However, on the balance of the game he felt that Juventus were clinical and deserved the victory, as his side fell behind the game after their victory. He commented:
“Our defect is that we tend to lose sharpness at the first setback. It had all gone so well up until the goal and Buffon was man of the match. We’ve got to fight to the end and we’ll see where we are when the games have been played.”
If Inter continue with this run of form they could be looking at the 10th position come the end of the season.
