Claudio Ranieri believes Chelsea can win Champions League
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 manager revealed he believed Chelsea could finally win the Champions League this season. Ever since the arrival of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich at the club, the Blues have been obsessed with claiming the coveted European Cup
but have failed each time.
This time however, Ranieri thinks the Blues have it in them to beat the top European sides to reach their goal. The former Roma coach said while speaking to reporters, “I think that this Chelsea side can win the Champions League because it is a marvelous
squad with fantastic players.”
Despite doing marvelously in the Champions League so far, the London side have suffered somewhat domestically. They are currently are at fourth position in the English Premier League, barely making it to the Champions League qualification spot for next season.
Ranieri however was confident the Blues’ Premier League position did not reflect accurately on their form, he continued, “I am not surprised they have struggled in the Premier League this season. Football is not a science as a team can do well as well as
play poor.”

However, the Blues boss recently spoke out on the issue, claiming he saw a future for the Ivorian striker at the club. He insisted the star striker still fit into his plans and revealed his decision to bench the player was to rest him. It remains to be seen
if Drogba will insist on a move away, considering Chelsea have already brought in his replacement. The club nevertheless insisted the rumors were baseless.
A source close to the club revealed, “I doubt very much that Didier Drogba wants to leave Chelsea; he is being rested rather than dropped at the moment. Drogba has had malaria, he has had a sore knee and a couple of weeks of rest, easing himself back makes
sense. However, it is true that he won't like being on the bench, even if it might be for his own good.”
Ancelotti revealed in a recent interview that he had decided to recall Didier Drogba for the crucial clash against Blackpool. The fixture against the Seasiders will give the Blues their opportunity to climb to third place on the Premier League table and
close the gap between league leaders Manchester United. The match at Bloomfield Road tonight will give Drogba another chance to prove that he’s still one of the top strikers in Europe.
