I am wondering in Mythology or any other way or religion what does or what would a Claw and Small gold keys be used for. The claw is about 2 inches not sure what kind of claw it is. A older man that passed owned it but didnt say why only that it was special

  1. This all rings a bell but as I searched for the meanings I couldn't find what I was looking for. The claw and gold key is probably voodoo but could in fact just be for any spell craft. Scott Cunningham wrote a book about the tools and their uses but I no longer have the book as someone stole it when I lent it to them. I believe the gold key is to attract luck and money as for the claw it is used in some cultures as a tool to protect against evil intent. Also sometimes these are found with a small silver bell and mirror. If the claw is a bird claw then it could be any spell tradition, but if it is an alligator claw it's most certainly voodoo.

  2. If the claw is in fact a bird talon, it can be used as a writing instrument in the use of sympathy magic (henna.)  I do not know much about gold keys and would assume that they would have to be used much in the same way as the personal belonging of someone else.
