I just received a new LCD HDTV but my busy baby marked it with a pen. What can I use to remove the pen marks without damaging the LCD screen? Can I use any home products (alcohol, water, etc) or must I purchase a special product at a computer store? Thanks.

  1. Why on earth does your BABY have a pen in the first place and you aren't watching it?  Children shoud NOT be given a writing instrument unless they are seated at the table with paper and supervision!  Do you realize your child could have been hurt with a pen?  Wake up Parent and DO some parenting!!

  2. OK know for a real answer. If pure alcohol does not work, Take a small amount of car wax or buffing compound. This will NOT scratch the screen and will remove most types of ink.

The trick is to you a cloth made for polishing. If you use anything else you will scratch the screen. I have used this process 3 times and it works just fine. I have 3 children and it is almost impossible to keep them away from the TV.

  3. Do not use any home cleaning products they will disolve the LCD screen.  I think you need to buy a special product and maybe a protective screen so your toddler wont do this again :)

  4. If it's a Sharpie, you can get the marks off pretty well by scribbling over the area with a dry-erase pen and then wiping it off. I've used that method on dry-erase and Promethean boards when the wrong pen was used. Don't know about an LCD screen though.

  5. Haha yur in it deep!!!

  6. aaah omg, you terrible parent!!! your baby could have harpooned itself with that pen.  what were you thinking?  Just kidding.  Use a small amount of water and scrub with a cloth at a medium pace.  If that doesnt get it all off add a touch of vinegar and scrub lightly but with a little muscle.  All solved.
