Clean driving license?

Question

Ive never had any points on my license, but i do have a drink drive

on there from 1999 and i believe this will stay on there until 2010.

Hired a van yesterday and i told em about the DD and the guy said ; but its clean now is it ? so i just said yeah..anyway,,, I thought my license wont be " clean " until the DD is removed in 2010, but this guy obviously knows the score, so is my license clean ? or was this guy turning a blind eye ?

in the uk, stays with the DVLA for 10 yrs but it actually comes off ur license after 5 or 6 years,

dvla just keeps records, but u have a clean license now,

Did you tell him it was a drink endorsement or did you say "DD" to him.  DD refers to dangerous driving and stays on your licence for 4 years.  As you rightly say, a drink endorsement stays on for 11 years.  Perhaps there's been a misunderstanding, accidental or otherwise . . .

The full part refers to the fact that you can drive cars not just motorbikes etc. and the clean part refers to you never having been fined for traffic offenses, as Artrella rightly says.
