can I clean my hard wood floor in mineral spirit mix with water after sandering I am throught sandering my hard floor >old hard wood

  2. Water does not mix well with mineral spirits. You wouldn't want to use water on the bare wood anyway.

    This floor, now that it has been sanded, should be clean except for some dust, yes? There shouldn't be much need for cleaning, is there?

    If you're trying to get stains out of the bare wood, you might try something like acetone and/or wood bleach applied judiciously.

    But, if the wood is in good shape, all you really need to do is sweep, vacuum and then wipe down with a rag dampened in mineral spirits to pick up any stray dust. You'll be ready for varnish or oil finish. Or polyurethane, if that's what you want.
