Question:

Clean out the "fuel filter" Lexus ES 350 (2007)?

That "fuel filter" that people talk about- where can I find it in my car so that I can clean it out? I am going to start feeding my car with one brand name gas station only from now on, and I want to start from scratch now with my engine.

Is there a special way to clean it?

Also, will this be the same thing as actually buying a fuel injector cleaner?

Thanks

  1. You don't need to change a fuel filter on a one year old car. Also, if you don't know where it is, you probably shouldn't be trying to take it off.

I think on newer cars the fuel pump is in the fuel tank.

  2. The es350 has a fuel filter locatedon the intake side of the fuel pump in the fuel tank and is a not serviceable item. No need to clean or replace on a new car unless fuel tank has been contaminated .

  3. You don't clean out a fuel filter, you just replace it.  Trying to clean it out isn't really feasible.  And there's no real need to change it out on a 1 year old car, just because you want to start using only "name brand" gas.
