  1. To answer this question, and your other question about getting sick out of a mattress, I highly recommend you invest in a steam cleaner, which cleans laminate flooring effortlessly, leaves a beautiful shine, sterilises as it cleans, and leaves the floor virtually dry. You could start off with a steam mop, and work your way up to a Polti, which is the best steam cleaner on the market. (around £220)

Having a husband with severe allergies, and Asthma means I cannot use many chemicals, and I also have to ensure house dust mites are kept to a minimum, my steam cleaner cleans the whole of my home without chemicals, and I would be absolutely lost without it, as I can clean and sanitise virtually every surface of my home, killing dust mites, and bacteria from my beds, soft furnishings, and kitchen, and bathroom surfaces. I couldn't be parted from my Polti, it's priceless.

  2. Mopping with water isn't the best for a laminate floor since the moisture can eventually make it warp.

They sell cleaner specifically for laminate floors at Home Depot and other home stores, that comes in a spray bottle. I think it has alcohol since it dries really quickly. Or try a Swiffer or similar wet-jac, these spray water or a solvent and have a squeegee like effect and remove most of the moisture.

  3. I use very very hot water and open a door or window and it is normally dry within just a few minutes.  I think drying the floor after mopping, is just making work for yourself....give yourself a break!

Also Vileda mops are the best

  4. For day to day it should be dry mopped.
