Cleaning a just finished needlepoint before framing?

Question

There are marks on the cloth from where it was rolled on the frame. Perhaps from leaning on my dark clothes. Just certain parts that look a little gray. I' ve never done this before and it's going to be a gift so I need all the help I can get. What do I use to clean them?

May be ask a special cleaner it may cost.

Sometime more mess while you do it by yourself.
