Cleaning bathtub? What should I use?

I want my bathtub to be super white and shiny clean. I live in an apt. and the tub is rather old and has been used several times. I can't seem to get the scum out of the tub. I scrub super hard but is there anything I can use that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (lol) that will break up the scum?? :)

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!  They aren't very expensive, they don't put off a bad smell or make your hands dry out.  You won't have to scrub very hard with it, either.  They are the best thing ever invented.  I promise!

It sound like wierd, but it really works. Use any kind of liquid toilet bowl cleaner. Just squirt it on let it sit for a minute and rinse it off. You might have to scrub just a little bit, or do it a couple of times. But, i'm telling you, it really does work.

I also like Scrubbing Bubbles, it works well too.

try using those mr. clean sponges. my mom used one on her old bath tub and she said it was the cleanest its been. they are called mr. clean dry eraser, i use them on my shower surround and it does great.

I WOULD USE MR CLEAN IT WORKS REALLY WELL AND LET IT SET FOR A LITTLE WHILE IT WORKS FOR ME SORRY IF IT DOESNT WORK FOR U OR TRY SCRUB AWAY??

try hydrogen peroxide....be careful, I would go to a health food store and buy a natural as possible product.  Yo wouldn't belive what poisons this country allows in these products.

Research the ingredients.

Put in dangers of....lets say chlorox....

Mix one part ammonia with two parts water. Spray this solution onto the location and then wipe clean. You may need to rinse down the area thoroughly afterwards.

if that doesn't do the trick...

Warm up about two cups of vinegar slightly in your microwave. Pour it into a spray bottle. Spray directly onto the soap scum and allow it to work for a minute or so. You can usually wipe it clean within minutes.

Use a dryer sheet, rub a sheet on the walls, they will help to remove scum.

If you choose to go with a commercial product for cleaning the soap scum from your bathroom walls, you’ll want to make sure that you read the directions. Follow package directions for best results.

I use those Mr Clean Magic erasers (what an awesome invention) They have ones now that are made just for the bathroom and they actually smell good!! they are the only thing I use in the bathroom now

cif is the best dont use bleach as it will ruin the surface and cause it to go yellow, get the sponges with one side is green and suds up with the cif and give it some elbow grease

I discovered that the gel cleaner designed for toilets works great. I apply a layer all over the tub, let it sit for about ten minutes and the tub is clean with barely any scrubbing.

Ok best product ever........KABOOM!  Yes its actuallly called Kaboom it is usually in a purple bottle and is only a few bucks at wal-mart.  It is perfect for cleaning those kind of surfaces, also works on others stove, sink, counters, tile.  But its like nothing else this stuff is STRONG.  Try it I'm sure you'll like it

Bleach, it will make ur tub whiter and much more sanitary. Make sure you open all the windows in ur bathroom to clean w/ bleach and turn on the fan. I also wear a hankie or a mask over my face so I do not breath it in too much.

Fantastik... it comes in a blue bottle. The stuff is genious. Spray liberally then scrub scum off.

Well look in your purse and get out your outdated credit card and go to the store and buy a can of scrubbin bubbles foam bathroom cleaner.Go home and spray the tub with the cleaner and then take the credit card and swipe back and forth down through the scum until you do the entire bathtub,and yes it will be really gross to see all the scum you are gettting off the tub, but when you see the results you will think you have a brand new tub.I learned this from working in a hotel business,that's what they taught the chambermaids to do.Good Luck!

If you have not tried it yet....try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.  It works wonders on hard to clean things, like old dirty stained tubs.

One word  - COMET !  It works great. Wet the tub town. Shake the COMET all over the tub. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Use a scrubbing sponge , should come clean. Rinse and Enjoy a clean tub.
