  1. do a little water change every week, like a 10-20% water change, and clean the rocks and everything around once a month or when they get dirty. With my experience beta's will jump out of the bowl. you may want to get a beta tank with a lid.

  2. change the water and wipe down the sides rocks etc

GET A LID bettas are great jumpers

  3. You could probably get by cleaning it once or twice a month. Just dump the fish and some of the water into a plastic cup, empty the water in the bowl, and wipe it down. You shouldn't really have to wash the rocks or anything like that.

You could look into getting an algae eater fish, although they're probably not compatible with betas.

  4. you should clean the water once a week

  5. You should NOT wait until the water gets cloudy. That could cause bacteria that will soon harm your betta.

You should do a 30%~50% water change every week. If the top is open, make sure that there is a 2 inch difference between the water line and the top because your betta could jump out.

  6. I have a Betta and i just wait until the water gets cloudy. It usually needs it about once every 3 weeks. When you clean it put the Betta in another bowl and replace the water. Let it sit out until it reaches room temperature. You should put drops of a solution in the water that clears out the chemicals(you can buy this at a pet store) clean the rocks and other stuff and then put your Betta back in its bowl. It will be one happy fish!
