Question:

Cleaning carpet?

I recently purchased a house and unfortunately after I bought, realized the stains in the carpet were urine stains probably from a dog.

I was planning to have the carpet cleaned but now I know it's urine, is cleaning still ok, or do I need to replace?

  1. You can purchase a good cleaning product at pet stores. You will probably need to put it on several times but eventually it worked for me. Can't recall the brand.

  2. Urine stains are almost impossible to remove.

You could have someone come in, pull the carpet back & replace the pad & then have them proffesionally cleaned.

Depending on how many stains there are you could have a carpet guy cut out the stains & seem in new peices from a closet.

You could replace the carpet in the rooms that are the worst.

    Good luck

  3. if i were you i would replace it because it has soaked into the padding. you don't know how long it has been there like that.i have tried to clean carpet like that and i would have been better buying new. i tried cleaners, vinegar everything.

  4. Best to replace it or go with a tile or one of the new laminate.Carpets are impossible to get truly clean.
