Question:

Cleaning cigarette smoke stains from closet doors?

Since this house was built back in the 70s, it has had smokers living in the master bedroom. Years ago I attempted to wash the closet doors in an attempt to get the yellow out. It was a daunting task--I got through one panel on one door and gave up. I was also 12. Now I really want to clean these doors, but I also don't want to be scrubbing for an hour on one panel (considering there's eight of them!), how can I clean the closets quickly and thoroughly? They're metal. No idea what the original color is--probably an off-white (I don't think that color could have been white at one point).
