Cleaning guitar strings?

theyre not rusty or anything but they look like they could be cleaned. how do you do that without having to take off the strings?

  1. Unfortunately, you have to get them changed. The strings are deteriorating when they're dirty or sounding dull. You can get them changed at a music store, you just gotta bring your own strings for them to use.


  2. Change them!  I think that a package of guitar strings is anywhere from $5-$10.  I like Daddario guitar strings personally because they're color coded.  

    They also sell soft cloths that you can use to wipe off your guitar after practicing, it removes all the residue that builds up.

  3. Just get them changed. Strings cost under 10$ for a set in most cases, it's worth it to have a nice new good sound for 10$ rather than bother even trying to clean them.
