Cleaning memory foam mattress ???

Question

we have a memory foam mattress and my boyfriends child has wet the bed - how would you sugest we clean it ?

because it is memory foam it has soaked in badly would use just just hot water and dettol ?

Yeah.. DONT put it in the washer >.< I made that mistake and it came out in pieces. Just wanted to save you that heart ache.

But...

Here's what you can do:

A) Take it to the dry cleaners.

or

B) (what I did) Get a large tub and soak it in anti bacterial soap and water for a day.. wring it out and then plunge it in type of thing.. then drain out the soapy water and soak in regular water. It stays extremely soap. You have to pull it out and wring it out about four-five times before it will all come out. Then, I like dryed it outside.  (after that I bought a cover for that thing so I wouldn't have to go through that again LOL >.<)

or

C) Some people say that you can spray an tremendous amount of lisol on it and then hang it out to dry repeating it twice.. but honestly.. it might work.. but I didn't trust it without it being rinsed.. so I did plan B.

FYI, we found a great  allergy cover for our mattresses that encase the entire item.  It might be a good investment, very inexpensive and durable enough to last until he outgrows this tendency.  (we found it at  Bed Bath and Beyond)
