Cleaning my deck? what do i use?

my deck was built several years ago and i still have not had a chance to put any type of protection on it , it now has black mildew and green mold , i have apressure washer what do i need to get to put on deck after i get rid of the mildew / mold i also want to seal it for winter time

After you clean it up with the pressure washer and it has had a chance to dry, I would stain it or put a penetrating oil sealer on it.  Oil sealers preserve the natural color of the wood and protect it from the elements.  There are many different brands available.  Visit your home improvement center for advice on the many choices you have.

After the deck dries from the caresses of your power washer, I would use Behr brand 500 series sealer.

I used Behr #500 natural clear sealer on our deck about 3 years ago, still looks good. I did clean and re-do the ramp that gets all the traffic last year.

Thompson's makes a great sealer, also.

Both companies make a great deck cleaning product to spray on before you power wash.

You can clean it with bleach and water if no pressure washer.  A bit more elbow grease is necessary.  I like Thompsons myself.
