Cleaning my room is a problem!?

I have an INSANELY messy room (you can't even see the floor). is a few weeks i will be getting some new furniture, which means i have to clean up my room so the new stuff can go in. Is there any organized way of cleaning my room (not shoving everything in my closet)? Every time i try to pick up some stuff and put it in a dresser or a box, i go CRAZY! I need a way to just organized and fix up my room without having a mental breakdown

Take a deep breath.  Don't try to do it all in one day or you will go nuts.  Try doing it in steps.  

First start by throwing away any garbage or broken items.  Maybe do that in the morning take a break and then continue to the second step in the afternoon.

Second, make two piles: Keep and Give Away.  Go through your items and put them in either one of these piles.  The stuff in give away put in a box or garbage bag and have your parents haul it to the goodwill or church.  Now the things you are going to keep try and organize them into bins, containers, or storage bags.  Maybe your parents would be willing to buy you some if you are willing to keep your room clean.  

Make sure you organize your closet and go through your drawers for things to give away.  

Once you feel it is complete you can store your items neatly in another room until your new furniture arrives.  However, before your new furniture gets to you make sure you vacumn or sweep and mop, so that your furniture is going into a clean room.  Once your furniture is in, organize your items neatly.  

Remember to then do maintance so that it doesn't get out of hand again.  Having a clean room is important b/c that should be your place to chill and relax.  If your room is that messy there is no way you can feel relaxed in there.

basically put all of the trash that you dont need in a trash bag.

put all of your clothes you dont need/wear in a basket and go sell them. most of the clothes on the floor would be dirty so take them to the laundry... seperate sstuff that should go in bathroom from the stuff that should go in your room. the bathroom stuff would be nail stuff and such. get bins and storage systems. get rid of the clutter... which basically means your going to have alot of trash.... and fold your clothes in the drawers and put them in a basket cuz you have to move your clothes from your dresser to the new one so its perfect. =]
