Cleaning my room is a problem!

I have an INSANELY messy room (you can't even see the floor). is a few weeks i will be getting some new furniture, which means i have to clean up my room so the new stuff can go in. Is there any organized way of cleaning my room (not shoving everything in my closet)? Every time i try to pick up some stuff and put it in a dresser or a box, i go CRAZY! I need a way to just organized and fix up my room without having a mental breakdown

Put all the stuff on your floor into categories:

For example clothes, bathroom items, beauty items, sport items, technology items, school items.

Them go trough your floor category by category. Put all the clothes in a hamper, put all the bathroom items in a bag to go in the bathroom, put all the sports items in the garage.... etc.

If you divide it up into sections it is less threatening, easier to think through, and will give you specific tasks instead of rambling through random items.
