Question:

Cleaning my saddle?

My saddle has black marks on the edges of the seat part. I just got it a couple months ago and it's really expensive. I use Leather Life to clean/condition it about every week or so. I don't wash my saddle with water. Leather Life is a cleaner and conditioner. It's a cream, so I really doubt they're water marks. They're from my legs rubbing the saddle i think. Is there any way to get that off?

  1. usually i would use saddle butter...you may think its the same as cleaner/conditioner but it isn't...it can usually get rid of any rubbing marks or nicks...just rub on in a circular motion to get that off, if all fails just ask your local feed store workers what they recommend...HOPE I HELPED!!!!!!!

  2. Wherever there is friction on leather, burnishing occurs.  There is no practical, effective way to reverse it.  It's normal wear.
