Cleaning out a 15l biorb

my biorb is due a thorough clean out, but it dosent tell me what i should use to clean it. is detol ok? what do i clean the rocks in and whatever? ive got four guppies and a siamese fighter fish if thats any help to anyone- oh theres a bacterial infection in the tank which has had a seven day course of medication to clear it

oh one other thing, the lid of the tank smells like damp washing- anything i can do about this?

If your filter is working properly you shouldn't need to do a total clean out.  Just remove about 25 per cent of the water and replace it with dechlorinated water.  I don't know what type of filter the biorb uses but it you can rinse the filter media in the old tank water and put it back is best.  

    Never, never use any kind of soap or cleaner to clean a fish tank.  They leave behind a residue that is toxic to fish.  If you totally clean out the tank it will have to cycle again and since you are already oversstocked that would probably lead to fish deaths.
