  1. Leave your cookies alone for now, they aren't hurting anything.  Go to each site that you can't remember your password for and get the password by e-mailing them (sometimes you just have to click on a box and they send your password automatically.  Write them all down.  I have a small notebook I keep all my user names and passwords in.  They're are also programs that store your passwords for you, but they can be lost if your hard drive crashes.  Unless you work for the CIA, writing them down and keeping them in a safe place should be fine.

If you're using Internet Explorer, open up Control Panel, then Internet Options, then Privacy.  You can pick which sites to always allow cookies for so that you don't have to do it every time you clean your cookies out.

But even when you allow cookies for a site, you might still be asked occasionally to give your user name and/or password when you log onto a site, so make sure you write them down and keep them safe.

  2. Get a password program - I use PINS.  Visit all the sites you have passwords on and change the passwords.  Store them in PINS.

But why do you want to get rid of your cookies?  They can't be taking up that mush space.

  3. Your browser should have an option to remove cookies. In Opera, go to Tools->Delete private data. In Firefox, Tools->Clear private data. In IE, Tools->Delete browsing history.

Or you could use CCleaner so you could delete the cookies (and other browser and history data) from your PC in just one go.

    Hope this helps.

  4. sorry the reason websites "remember" you is because of the cookies, so if you clean out all of your browsers caches you would have to guess at passwords or click on "forgot my password and get emailed or sent to a change password screen that's just the way it goes. if you are asking if you can extract the passwords you don't remember they are not in cookie files a cookie file is just like the website leaving its "urine scent" on your hard drive it says " we know who you are" and autofills usernames and passwords from their records not from your browser cache
