  1. Try to do format of your hard disk. After that install O.S , any effective anti-virus and  don't forget to delete all temp files daily.

    Regards,

    Darren

  2. Some of the virus is still unable to cure now a day, especially Trojan. If you really got this "visitor", I advice you just re-format.

  3. If your PC is acting up, try this to clean it up.

    Download SuperAntiSpyware

Restart your PC in safe mode, and run a full scan.

While in safe mode, you may also want to have a look at your start up items by using msconfig.

Be careful with the items you uncheck, you can have a look here to see if they are necessary

You should also have a look at your IE Add-ons while in safe mode.

Disable any you do not use.

After you reboot back to normal mode, download and install ccleaner to fix any registry problems and clean up old temp files.

Then run a disk clean up

  4. hi katie,

why cant you try to clean up the registry?

  5. Your PC is slows because the antivirus is now working in the background. There are a lot of services that Windows had it working without you noticed.

Try to stop some of the Windows Services you rarely used. Read this long page to know how to stop them.

    Addition :

You can turn off the antivirus if your PC is in stand-alone, not hooked to the internet and the USB flashdisk, you're not inserting a CD/DVD from an unknown source.
