  1. get totes to organize your stuff and wipe everything down with windex multisurface wipes. they work so well!

  2. There have been some studies done that show that if a room smells clean, people think its cleaner than it is.  So I start with a fresh smell, whether its getting the dirty sheets, minging towels, and dirty sneaks out and washed, or its spraying some essential oils watered down with rubbing alcohol or water.  I use spray vinegar with a cup of water, a cup of vinegar and a DROP of dishwashing liquid for spraying windows, wiping things down, cleaning windows, mirrors and such.  Can also be used to wipe door trims, door k***s, wipe down furniture, clean baseboards, and wipe floors up with.  When dry, it simply smells clean.  I spritz my bed with either Febreeze, essential oils, or a bit of fabric softener watered down with a cup of water.  Smells GREAT!  I use containers to organize things, like for the kids, the dogs, and certain things.  I have these metal baskets at the door.  One holds doggy items (like the leashes, a muzzle, some doggie toys, some doggy doo bags for walking them, a couple of collars, etc) the other one holds the kids backpacks for school, papers that are signed, school books, pencils, some paper, ETC) another one holds magazines I want to read, papers to go with us on appointments, directions, a couple of bottles of water, cloth sacks for shopping and things needing to go (charity drop offs, store returns and what not).  When going on an errand or appointment, I grab a couple of magazines, a cloth bag to put it in, along with my papers for the appointment, directions if needed and a bottle of water.  If I am going past a store I need to return something to, in it goes too, or a drop off to charity on the way there or back in the car it goes with me.  We find it has simplified the "OMG!   What did I do with those directions for the meeting?  Wheres my speech?"  I have stuff to keep me entertained at the Doctors office while I wait, I don't have to touch minging mags that someone else has sneezed on and if I want to clip or rip I can, its MINE! And I have what I need to attend (speech, signed paper, applications, what have you!).  We also have a basket for library that contains a composition book, books that need to be returned or that we finished, maybe a list of what we'd like to check out when we go.  It makes it easy to grab and go.  Think of putting like items together.  Like go through your clothes, your make up and your dance stuff.  Set it up in a way that makes it easy to deal with.  If you have washed your dance outfit, instead of putting it in your closet of drawers, put it in the DANCE Basket with your dance shoes, a bottle of water, a towel, etc.  Then on Dance Day, grab it and go!  Hope this helps you!  Good luck!
