What is an easy way to clean the cooking part of the grill. Every time we cook out and I have to clean the grill I end up with a big mess in the kitchen sink and on me. I have tried spraying the grill with cooking spray, putting olive oil on it and nothing works can someone please help. I'm tired of having a big mess when I clean the racks of the grill.

  1. I soak ours in hot soapy water (washing up liquid) and a large scoop of laundry soda.  Leave for a good while and use ordinary scourer and new hot soapy water.  Comes up a dream.

  2. The easiest thing is to just burn it off.  Once you are done cooking, lower the cover on your grill to trap the heat in.  This will carbonize any residue left on the rack.  Before you use it the next time, take a wire brush or cleaning stone and run it across the rack to clean it.  It should come out pretty clean.  You can get either at any harware store, Walmart, Target, etc.

If it's not clean enough for you  you can leave the rack in place while you pre-heat it and clean it again right before you use it.  It might not be spotless but there aren't any germs due to the heat.  If you are concerned about food sticking, you can use a high temp cooking spray right before you place the food on the grill.
