Clear coat for DecoColor paint pens on a surfboard?

this is the first time using these and i always see pros just pen up and hit the surf, but i know they go through boards like no tomorrow.... i want the art to last at least 6 months... any help would be good. aloha

  1. I know some people use Posca Pens to color their boards, then spray it with a UV resistant acrylic clear coat. It's recommended that you do the artwork on a totally cleaned sand finished board. The acrylic coat may peel off, but it won't hurt your board. The Posca Pens may last six months alone, if you keep the sun exposure to a minimum (only exposed while surfing),
