Clear retainers question..

I've seen people with those clear retainers that they switch like every two weeks to straighten your teeth instead of getting braces. How much do they usually cost?

  1. They are called Invisalign. They are NOT the same price as braces! They cost a lot more than regular braces.

  2. hey! ok so i have the clear retainer. :) and i went to my dentist and he said i needed braces but offered me  the ckear retainer instead. i took him up on that offer in a heart beat! it cost about the same, acually it was the same so that was good. the only bad part to this was that every weeek or so you go into the office and get a tighter retainer. so instead of your teeth easing into the spt there is more pressure forcing your teeth together. but honest to god, i think it is worth everything! i loved it. i had my retainer for about 4 months and people couldnt even really see it.  opposed to haveing the ugly metal braces for about 1 year.  anywyas, go with the clear retainer!

    good luck!!!

  3. That is Invisalign Braces.

They are not retainers, though there are clear retainers, as well.  The clear retainers are for extremely slight cases.  Or to wear after braces are taken off.

Here's some info. on Invisalign...  these trays are custom made by a lab every few weeks.  They are only meant for small cases.  If you have crowding, or a bite issue (over or under bite), this is not for you.  If you have a few teeth that need to be realigned...you may be a candidate.

Some general dentists' are able to assist you with this procedure, other's may refer you to an orthodontist.

The orthodontist will let you know if you qualify for invisalign.

Invisalign can run anywhere from $3,000-$5,000.  Braces are cheaper.

  4. i have them,  but they dont work, and 2000

  5. I think you might be talking about Invisalign. In that case, it really depends on the situation of your teeth. It's a lot more pricy than braces actually, and the estimate cause will be about $5000 - 6000. You should visit www.AACD.com for more information about it. (:

  6. They're expensive around 5,000 at least. I heard they don't even work that well either.

  7. they are a lot more um like 1.5 times more

i think its because its more work for the dentist

  8. I've heard there are the same , if not more , than braces .

  9. like 5 thousand

  10. Invisalign, as a brand, usually ranges from 5,000,8,000, depending on your teeth. There IS a way around this, though, and it's what I did.

Most orthodontists make there own invisible retainers for patients who have recently had there braces taken off. These work to keep the teeth in line. Ask your doctor if, instead of going through the brand invisilign (which requires your ortho taking imprints each month/biweekly, mailing them off to invisilign, and waiting for that company to send them back.) if he can make you thinner versions of the retainers he already makes on a regular basis to shift your teeth. This will be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (mine was $200 for 6 months) but exactly the SAME thing.

I love my retainers and they have made my teeth beautiful. You just have to know how the system works and find the right orthodontist who is willing to do it.

    Good luck!

  11. Invisaline tend to run more that traditional braces
